Rolling out a new look for my icon on various forms of social media! This little self portrait was made for my new business cards (finished just in time for SDCC) using a mix of paper cutting and digital painting. Hope these turn out once I get them back from the printer!
Meant to post these ages ago — some of my favorite looks from this year’s MET Gala in super quick sketchy form! Probably won’t touch these again, so I figured I would share them in their various states of sketchiness.
From L-R: Beyoncé, Anne Hathaway, Dita Von Teese, Liu Wen, Emma Stone, Claire Danes, Janelle Monae, Blake Lively, Felicity Jones, and Taylor Swift.
I’ve been practicing with patterns in Photoshop this week, including whipping up this deliciously avocado themed background for my new Twitter profile. It was super fun and easy to make this one, so I’ll definitely be trying more out in the future.

A little practice piece with some gouache I had sitting around! Small step toward a solidified portfolio idea, perhaps…
Several months ago, I was contacted by Meghan and Keith to design their wedding invitations, including the save-the-dates. These are finally off in the mail, so I thought it would be time to share.
Meghan and Keith are having a rustic wedding at a local farm and were interested in something sweet and simple to go with the vibe.
It’s been such a fun project to work on for so many reasons and I’m really pleased the Meghan and Keith like the final design! I’ll also be posting the final designs for the invites in the next few months.
This past weekend, I had the privilege to attend the “Women in Animation” panel and Brittney Lee’s papercutting “Learn from the Masters” class at the Walt Disney Family Museum in San Francisco (I’ll save those goodies for another time!)
As a thank-you for her instruction, I wanted to make Brittney a little something. While I don’t post about it on my blog very often, I am an avid knitter (mittens, socks, sweaters — you name it!) and this winter I’ve been speeding through lots of pieces. When I saw Brittney’s recent blog post on her costuming work in Frozen and her comments on Oaken’s sweater designs, I knew I had found my next project!
Using size 0 needles and Koigu embroidery thread (from the drool-inducing Purl Soho), I got to work translating Brittney’s digital design to a pattern chart. After establishing the chart, I made up the pattern as I went along, determining the neck and sleeves on the fly. Because of the scale of the sweater and the complexity of the stitch repeats, I wasn’t able to get it 100% accurate, but I’m really pleased with the outcome! The completed project ended up being approximately 5 inches wide by 3 inches tall.

Lupita Nyong’o is so stylish, there’s already a Tumblr dedicated to fan art of her.
So thrilled that my little Lupita illustration was included in Buzzfeed’s recent compilation of art. There are some insane artists featured and I am so grateful to be included with them! Click through to see the full list or click here to see my original post.
And keep an eye on the blog for another (long overdue) Lupita post soon!
Cinderella for Miranda's Disney Ladies Collab on Twitter! I've never been a huge fan of her dress design, so I decided to try out a different approach. It was a super fun exercise and so great to see how everyone contributed!
You can see the full compilation with everyone’s submissions (91 different fabulous characters total) on her blog.
And for those who like the twitter-verse, don’t forget to come talk to me at isabeldoodles. Still getting in the swing of things, but I’m really starting to enjoy it!

Elsa and Anna from Disney’s Frozen
A slightly different approach to silhouettes from what I have done in the past!
The classic versions should be up soon!
Another cheesy valentine! Hoping to get one more out before the 14th.
If anyone is interested in printing this out to use, just message me and I’ll see what I can do!
Trying out my first submission for Sketch Dailies with their Cleopatra prompt from last week.
The art coming out of this project is seriously amazing and the prompts are really useful to do as warm ups. Hoping I’ll have time to do some more complete designs for some of the prompts, but for now, I can only imagine having time to do more sketch-y stuff like this.
Definitely follow their twitter or #sketch_dailies to see all the submissions!
A quick Valentine as requested by my sister for her cheese-loving boyfriend!
Had fun coming up with the cheesy puns, so I might try to whip out a couple more of these before the 14th. Any suggestions or favorite cheeses?
Taylor Swift in Gucci. Grammy Awards 2014.
My personal favorite from Sunday night. Trying out a different approach with each of these and I can’t wait for the rest of the season to see what other dresses I can sketch next!

Continuing my Award Season kick with one of my other favorite dresses! Going to try to keep up with them as they continue.
